Ya Ba’ad Hayy: It is one of the most famous expressions and it means: (Mau you live longer than any of my beloved family members). It is used with elderly people, children, and strangers to express intimacy and warmth. This expression is more popular in the female society than the male society.
Ya Hayy wa Mayty: This expression is common between females, and means (You are the substitute for all those dead and alive). It is used when visiting patients or cuddling children.
Ya Qerrat A’iny: This expression is similar to the previous ones and it means (my source of joy and pleasure).
Ya Trety: This expression is used when cuddling children and it means (the one I wish to see).
Ya A`zzwety: El A`ezwa is the ones that support and stand behind you. This expression is similar to the other expression (Ya Ba’ad Hayy) and has the same use.
Ya Haih: This expression is used for calling venerable strangers.
Ya Nour A’yni: This expressions is used as a compliment for the services provided. It is also used by the elderly when addressing young people. Unfortunately, this expression is not used any more.
